Day 1: Exploring the City

Start your first day in Chengdu by visiting the iconic Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Here, you can observe the adorable giant pandas in their natural habitat and even have the opportunity to hold a baby panda for an additional fee. After spending the morning at the panda base, head over to the Jinli Ancient Street for lunch and souvenir shopping. This street is known for its traditional architecture, street food, and handicrafts.

In the afternoon, visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple, which honors Zhuge Liang, a famous politician and military strategist from the Three Kingdoms period. The temple is surrounded by beautiful gardens and provides a glimpse into China's ancient history. Wrap up your evening by visiting the People's Park, a popular destination for locals to relax and socialize. Walk around the serene lake and watch the locals matchmaking through their famous matchmaking corner.

Day 2: Foodie Heaven

Chengdu is famous for its spicy Sichuan cuisine, so dedicate your second day in the city to trying some of the local dishes. Start your day with a breakfast of dan dan noodles, a traditional Sichuan dish made with spicy sauce and minced meat or tofu. After breakfast, head over to the Wenshu Monastery, one of the city's most important Buddhist temples. You can admire the beautiful architecture and serene surroundings here.

For lunch, head to Jinli Street once again, this time trying some of Chengdu's famous street food. Snack on spicy skewers and fried rice cakes while walking along the colorful street. In the evening, visit Huanglongxi Ancient Town, a 1,700-year-old town located about an hour's drive from Chengdu. Here, you can taste local delicacies in the traditional teahouses while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere.

Day 3: Scenic Chengdu

On your third day in Chengdu, explore the natural beauty surrounding the city. Start by taking a trip to Mount Qingcheng, a UNESCO-listed site and one of the holiest Taoist sites in China. Hike through the mountain, taking in the beautiful temples and natural scenery. In the afternoon, head to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a vital water conservation project built over 2,000 years ago. The system still functions today and has become a popular tourist destination.

In the evening, enjoy a hot pot dinner, another famous Sichuan dish. Hot pot is a communal dish where you cook raw meats and vegetables in a pot of boiling broth. It's a great way to end your trip to Chengdu, savoring the flavors of the city with new friends.

Overall, Chengdu is an amazing destination for anyone interested in Chinese history, culture, and food. There's something for everyone here, from visiting the pandas to hiking the mountains. Make sure to plan your trip so that you can fully explore all that the city has to offer.
