Day 3: Exploring Chengdu’s Cuisine

Chengdu is known for its spicy and delicious cuisine. Spend your third day eating your way through the city’s food scene. Start your food tour by sampling some hot pot, a famous Sichuan dish that involves dipping meats and vegetables into a boiling pot of spicy broth. Then, head to the Sichuan cuisine museum to learn about the history of Sichuan food and taste some traditional snacks. End your culinary adventure by indulging in some delicious tea at a traditional teahouse.

After three days of non-stop exploring, take a break by visiting the tranquil Wenshu Monastery. This Buddhist temple is one of the largest and best-preserved monasteries in Chengdu. Take a stroll through the peaceful gardens, admire the intricate architecture, and enjoy a cup of tea at the monastery’s teahouse. In the evening, head to the Chengdu People’s Park to watch a traditional Sichuan opera performance.
