Day 1: Arrival in Xi'an

Upon arrival in Xi'an, head to your hotel to check in and refresh. Start exploring the ancient city by first visiting the City Wall, which dates back to the 14th century. You can walk or rent a bike to cycle around the wall. Then, head to the Bell Tower, a famous landmark in the city center. Take a stroll around the Muslim Quarter and try some local delicacies such as roujiamo (Chinese hamburger) and biangbiang noodles. End the day with a visit to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, a Buddhist temple that was built in 652 during the Tang dynasty.

Day 2: Terracotta Army and Huaqing Palace

Today, start your morning by visiting the famous Terracotta Army, which is located about 40 kilometers east of Xi'an. This army is one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century and consists of more than 8,000 life-size statues of soldiers, horses, and chariots. Afterward, head to the Huaqing Palace, which was a hot spring bath resort during the Tang dynasty. The palace is located at the foot of Mount Li and offers a stunning view of the surrounding hills and valleys.

Day 3: Huashan Mountain

Today, take a day trip to Huashan Mountain, one of the five sacred mountains in China. The mountain features five main peaks, and the most popular route to take is the North Peak. It takes around three to four hours to ascend the peak, but the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape make it worth the effort. Remember to bring enough water, snacks, and comfortable walking shoes.

Day 4: Shaanxi History Museum and Great Mosque

Start your morning with a visit to the Shaanxi History Museum, which displays over 300,000 cultural relics from different periods of China's history. Then, head to the Great Mosque of Xi'an, which is the oldest and largest mosque in the country. The mosque features a unique blend of Islamic and Chinese architecture and is an essential place of worship for the local Muslim community. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Tang Dynasty show and feast on a delicious dumpling banquet.
